In 2017, OurYouth.my (a Non-Government Association initiated by Conqueror’s Vision Sdn Bhd) will be organizing the annual Monster Dash Charity Run (Light Up Edition) whereby it’s aim is to introduce healthier lifestyle but also to establish social networking especially amongst the youth. This event as well aim to create social awareness especially amongst the youth and general public on different diseases in our community and also to promote caring and charitable heart amongst youth and general public. This 5 KM fun run mainly aim to raise fund for 2 charitable associations, namely Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) and Hope Place Kuching (Persatuan Kebajikan Harapan Kuching). The participants will also have the chance to experience the spectacular night view of Kuching city in funky lights due to the light/art installation along the route of run.
The past 3 years saw more than 15,000 participants and a total sum of 378K was raised benefiting 4 charitable associations. It has been a great testimony the city's kindred spirit. Scheduled to be done this January 14th 2017 (Saturday) at iCOM Square, Jalan Pending, this charity run is one of the most highly anticipated run in Kuching, expected to draw in a total of 9,000 participants.
For 2017, the organizer are taking the event to the next level by instilling elements of CULTURE, ARTS and TECHNOLOGY into the 4th edition of Monster Dash themed "Light up the City" by adding a virtual run and also enhancing the actual run experience via light installations at the event venue. These exhibits will be displayed for a month long.
Registration are available via online, selected LEA Centre & LEA Sports Centre Outlets in Kuching, iCube Innovation Sdn Bhd and iZakaya Kuching (iCOM Square) with a fee of RM 28.00 for Virtual Run Category (Including Finisher Medal and e-Certificate). For the Actual Day Run, the registration fee is RM 50.00 (Including Finisher Medal, e-Certificate and Running T-Shirt) whereby participants must be aged 15 years and above.
In the mission of encouraging local youth community of all races and backgrounds to unite together in a healthy activity under the mission of helping those in needs through charity programme, Lea Sports Centre proudly supporting this run by establishing the main apparel for this run, as well as being one of the official registration counters compromising a total of 9 outlet counters. We hope that by our support, it would enhance the overall quality of the charity run as well as helping the organizer to achieve the ultimate objective of the run : to help create awareness and fund in support for Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) and Hope Place Kuching (Persatuan Kebajikan Harapan Kuching).
